DESIGN BRIEF
UPDATING THE PACKAGING DESIGN
CONTEMPCO WAS COMMISSIONED BY BONNE ET FILOU TO HELP THEM WITH ONE MAIN CONCERN THEY HAD IN GENERAL ABOUT THEIR PACKAGINGS. THE OVERALL LOOK WAS FANCIED BY MANY PEOPLE HOWEVER NO ONE COULD TELL THIS PRODUCT WAS FOR DOGS. SO WE WORKED ON FINDING A QUICK AND COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION TO TWEAK THE PACKAGING DESIGN.

CONCEPT
THE PRODUCT WIHTOUT DOUBT WAS MEANT FOR AN UPPER SCALE MARKET. THAT SAID IT GAVE NO CLUE ABOUT WHO THE PRODUCT WAS FOR. WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BRAND IDENTITY, WE WANTED TO QUIETLY MAKE A LOUD CHANGE IN DESIGN WHICH WOULD SIGNIFICANTLY TURN THINGS AROUND AND HELP THE SHOPPERS UNDERSTAND THIS PRODUCT IS FOR DOGS. SINCE BONNE ET FILOU EXISTED IN SOME DEPARTMENT STORES AS WELL PEOPLE DIDN'T EXPECT THIS TO BE A DOG TREAT.
DESIGN INSIGHTS
WE WANTED TO CREATE CLEAN AND ELEGANT DESIGN ASSETS WHICH WOULD PARALLEL THE BRAND IDENTITY. THUS WE TRIED KEEPING THINGS SUPER SIMPLE.
DESIGN
FIRST WE TRIED APPLYING DOG FIGURES HOWEVER THEY DIDNT LOOK MUCH SYMMETRICAL NOR AS STRONG. THEREFOR WE HAD TO COME UP WITH EVEN A BIGGER IDEA, WHICH WAS SIMPLY TURNING THE WINDOW INTO A BONE WINDOW, (AND MAKE THE WINDOWS 2 SO THAT THE PACKAGING LOOKED MORE SYMMETRIC.

FOR PACKAGING TEST PURPOSES WE CREATED MULTIPLE MOCKUPS
FINAL MOCKUPS
CLIENT WANTED TO CHANGE THE ORNAMENTS AS WELL AS DO COUPLE TWEAKS WITH THE LOGO. ALSO THE CLIENT THOUGHT HAVING TWO WINDOWS MIGHT CAUSE PRODUCT DAMAGES DURING LOGISTICS, THEREFOR HE WANTED TO KEEP ONE WINDOW ONLY.

THEREFOR WE BROUGHT BONNE AND FILOU (THE DOGS) OUT TO THE SIDES.
